EDF and Veolia want to dismantle the first graphite nuclear reactor by 2028

EDF and Veolia announced on Tuesday December 10 a joint venture for the difficult dismantling of graphite technology nuclear reactors. Industrialists hope to dismantle a first graphite reactor in Chinon (Inde-et-Loire) by 2028.

EDF and Veolia strengthen their alliance in the decommissioning of graphite technology nuclear reactors. The deconstruction of these units is particularly difficult. To achieve this, the two manufacturers announced the creation of a joint venture called Graphitech.
